2 Bedroom Cottage in Casterton

Kirkby Lonsdale 2.3 miles. Lying in the charming village of Casterton resting within the Yorkshire Dales National Park is this lovely three-storey, end-terrace cottage, 1 Crookenden Row, with stunning views across the fells. A former school building and part of the site where the Brontë sisters went to school, 1 Crookenden Row has been lovingly renovated to offer four guests a beautiful dwelling from which to explore both Cumbria, the Lake District National Park and the Yorkshire Dales. Park up in your private parking spot before stepping into the hallway, using the coat hooks to hang your things, before finding a lovely twin bedroom on the ground-floor, with zip/link beds which can come together to form a king-size, along with a ground-floor bathroom too. Travel upstairs to the first floor to find a homely sitting room, with a sofa and armchairs to lounge on before the TV, and a sleek, contemporary kitchen/diner boasting all the appliances you need to rustle up delicious self-catered meals. Up on the second floor discover a beautiful master bedroom with a king-size bed and an en-suite shower room, perfect for enjoying your own privacy․ The room enjoys far reaching views of the Yorkshire Dales. The attractive and neat enclosed garden consists of a patio with furniture, great for alfresco dining and drinks in the sun, a gravelled area and a handy lockable original stone bothy. As you leave the cottage, you have plenty of walks and footpaths all straight from your door and can be on the Yorkshire Dales Road Cycling routes in a matter of minutes! The village of Casterton is a small setting with an 18th century pub, The Pheasant Inn, and a 9-hole golf course, great for anyone seeking to perfect their swing on holiday. Barbon is a quaint village only a 3km stroll away with a pub plus a village store called The Churchmouse which is famous for its cheese, deli, village store and home-made food. Head down to the unspoilt market town of Kirkby Lonsdale to discover high quality, independent shops along with bars, cafés and restaurants with lots within the town and nearby to enjoy. Make sure to visit the town's most notable feature, the medieval 14th century Devil's Bridge, one of the country's finest medieval bridges, along with a trip to see Ruskin's View for yourself, a vista which inspired a painting by Turner and poet John Ruskin․ 1 Crookenden Row is actually in the view, tucked away behind the trees. Wander down Salt Pie Lane, visit The Vault: A Story Bank to hear the town's history in their own words, and set off on a riverside walk before coming back to the comfort of a café for a treat. The beautiful Ingleton Waterfalls Trail is the perfect outing to soak up the natural beauty of the area, along with White Scar Cave sure to impress with its subterranean passages, caverns and waterfalls, with an eco-friendly visitor centre.
