Carsington Water is under a 10 minute drive from the cottage, here you can take the 8 mile route around the lake by bike or walk, plus there are many water activities or bird watching to get involved in, if you have a love for walking the Tissington trail is under 15 minutes away from the property, the famous Dovedale Stepping Stones or slightly further is the Manifold Valley, all fantastic trails to explore. If you are a thrill seeker, visitors to Ashbourne often take advantage of its proximity to Alton Towers theme park, lying just under 30 minutes away from Post Cottage.
