There is a fantastic enclosed garden to the back of Ivy Cottage with artificial grass and a summerhouse facing over the walls where views of the fields can be enjoyed.
Within proximity to the house is Wingfield Manor, these are ruins that can be explored and left deserted in the 1700’s. South Wingfields 1840s grade ll listed train station is also worth a visit.
There is also an upmarket pub called offering delicious food, and an Italian within walking distance. A little further out of the village, many other eateries can be found plus the local towns of Matlock, Alfreton, Belper and Bakewell.
If you enjoy golf be sure to bring your clubs to enjoy a round at the two local courses in Alfreton and Matlock or spend the day exploring Chatsworth House, a stately home where you can walk the grounds as well as the house and gardens themselves, there is also a farmyard for the little ones.
