The property is very private and an ideal base for those wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and enjoy the fabulous views from the cottage. Should you wish to arrive by helicopter there is a landing pad on the estate.
Situated just 10 minutes from the Rutland water reservoir with its 4200 acres of open countryside and nature reserves, with stunning walks. There are plenty of activities to take part in whilst staying at Stable Cottage, including bird watching at the local nature reserve, fishing, rock climbing, high ropes, golf, crazy golf, boat trips, water sports including windsurfing, sailing, canoeing, Aqua park, kayaking and stand up paddle boarding during the summer; Close by are the county’s two market towns: Oakham, 3 miles, where you can visit the 12th-century Oakham Castle, and Uppingham, 7 miles. Both towns are full of individual shops, restaurants, cafés and tea rooms. The pretty market towns of Stamford, 15 miles, and Melton Mowbray - famous for its pork pies, 10 miles, are both well worth a visit.
There are many historic properties in the nearby area including Burghley House, with its annual horse trials, Rockingham Castle and the National Trust properties of Priest’s House near Stamford, Woolsthorpe Manor and Lyveden. Slightly further afield are the towns and cities of Market Harborough, Leicester, Peterborough, Kettering and Huntingdon.
