Nestled in a rural location 25 miles from Fort William, the ‘Outdoor Capital of the UK’, Ben View is ideal for those wishing to explore the west coast of Scotland. From Fort William you can catch the famous Jacobite Stream Train, as depicted in the Harry Potter film, and pass over the Glenfinnan Viaduct OR for those who just want a relaxing holiday in peacefull surroundings.
The beautiful Isle of Skye, and the smaller inner isles of Rum, Muck, Eigg and Canna, are all easily reached by short ferry crossings from Mallaig. Explore the Ardnamurchan Peninsula, the most westerly point of mainland Britain, where a short ferry crossing from Lochaline will take you across to the islands of Mull, Staffa and Iona. Arisaig is home to one of the most scenic golf courses in the world, and the beautiful white sandy beaches with turquoise waters are perfect for warm sunny days.
The area has an abundance of wildlife and is steeped in history, with many ruined castles and ancient monuments to visit. Fort William and Glencoe, with their famous mountain ranges, are extremely popular with walkers, climbers and skiers, whilst the Nevis Range hosts the UCI World Mountain Bike Championships. Enjoy visits to Oban, a bustling harbour town, Loch Ness to try and spot the monster and Inverness, the Highland capital.
