This wonderful detached cottage, adjacent to the owners home, is set in a superb location 100 yards from road, rail, river and canal, what more could you ask for? When the original train line was constructed, Eden House stood still and they constructed the tunnel directly underneath (although you wouldn’t even know once inside). Set in a perfect position by the side of the Cromford Canal, the sound of babbling water can be heard whilst relaxing in the wonderful cottage garden. Inside you are greeted with two cosy living rooms, a beautiful conservatory, dining area and well equipped kitchen. On the first floor you will find three bedrooms, two with en-suite and a family bathroom. Eden House is located in the village of Whatstandwell which sits beside the River Derwent, located close to its better known neighbours of Cromford, Matlock, Matlock Bath and the popular village of Crich. The village of Crich is packed with character and history, and boasts a number of shops and several pubs. There are walks around the village, and trams (the village is home to the National Tramway Museum) move up the valley to some of the most beautiful views of the Derbyshire Dales. Close by you will find Matlock Bath located in the beautiful wooded gorge of the River Derwent, 1 mile from Matlock, surrounded by wooded hills and cliffs. It developed as a spa town in the 1800s and is also famous for its connections with Sir Richard Arkwright and the cotton trade. Today Matlock Bath, offers a selection of pubs and shops, Arkwright’s Cromford Mill, a World Heritage Site, and Venetian Nights during September and October, which feature decorated and illuminated boats floating along the river. The village boasts a plethora of attractions such as Gulliver’s Kingdom, the Peak District Mining Museum or you can enjoy a ride on the Heights of Abraham cable car where you can take in the views in style. In and around Matlock itself, you will find antique shops to enjoy not to mention fantastic coffee shops, restaurants, cocktail bars and bistros. The historic houses of Chatsworth, Haddon Hall and Hardwick are all within easy reach to explore along with the famous market town of Bakewell.
