Nearby New Quay, once famously home to writer and poet Dylan Thomas, clings to the coastline overlooking beautiful Cardigan Bay where dolphin watching boat trips are available in season. The bottlenose dolphins are such frequent visitors you can often see them from the harbour wall and it’s a great vantage point to enjoy an ice cream or fish and chips. The coastline of Ceredigion boasts many beautiful beaches and coves including Llangrannog, Cwmtydu, Tresaith, Penbryn and Aberporth. The coastal path stretches for over 60 miles and walking just a small section will offer stunning views and allow you to get close to the nature and wildlife that this area is famous for.
The county has an abundance of events and festivals all year round, so you’ll never be short of things to see and do. Whilst you are in the area, visit the colourful Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron, Aberwystwyth with its long promenade, pier and electric cliff railway, or take the steam train to Devils Bridge. The town of Cardigan and castle and Cilgerran Castle are within an easy drive. Meadowcroft is the perfect retreat to return to after a day out discovering this fantastic region.
