Our cottage is set on the edge of the Peak District, overlooking the picturesque wooded Churnet Valley, affectionately known as ‘Staffordshire’s Little Switzerland’ with its canal wharf, meandering river and nostalgic steam railway within easy reach.
The space
This holiday let is set in the beautiful Staffordshire Moorlands, overlooking the picturesque wooded Churnet Valley, affectionately known as ‘Staffordshire’s Little Switzerland’ with its canal wharf, meandering river and nostalgic steam railway within easy reach. Alton Towers is just 6 miles away and offers rides for the thrill-seekers and CBeebies Land for the little ones. Travel 3 miles across the border into the Peak District to visit the serene Dovedale and its stepping stones – a fun day out for the family! This cottage is less than 10 miles from Stoke, yet in a tranquil country setting.
The entrance leads to the kitchen/diner, where there’s an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment and dishwasher. Cook up a tasty meal then gather together at the dining table. There is a ground floor double bedroom with a TV and a ground floor bathroom that offers a shower over the bath and a WC. Head up the stairs to the lounge, which offers a wonderful space to relax on the comfy sofas in front of the TV. There is a pretty twin bedroom, located in the eaves which is bright and airy with a sloping ceiling (please note, there is some restricted head height in places).
Sit and admire the views from the outdoor furniture on the patio. There is further garden space which is private and enclosed. Shared play barn and outdoor seating area with fire pit and BBQ. There is off-road parking for two cars.
