Shop for local produce from independent shops in delightful market towns on the River Usk such as Crickhowell, (4 miles) and lively Abergavenny, (12 miles), with its splendid Victorian market hall. In colourful Brecon (12 miles), take a peaceful boat trip along the Monmouthshire and Brecon canal or enjoy a gentle walk or bike ride along the towpath. Pack a wetsuit for a swim and water sports in scenic Llangorse Lake (7 miles) and browse the bookshops in picturesque Hay-on-Wye (15 miles).
