About this space
A gorgeous, traditional two bedroom cottage (sleeping 6) in a private coastal location overlooking the Irish Sea, extensive gardens, woodland and breathtaking sea views.

Situated in an elevated position above a secluded cove there is direct access to the beach with 7 acres of surrounding gardens & mature woodland.

With large gardens, the cottage is a great escape for a family get away during the summer months with the gas fired stove making it a cosy retreat for a winter break.

The space
Arrive at the cottage by driving across a small bridge in a woodland area which spans a charming stream with 2 small waterfalls on either side, you will fall in love straight away as you are instantly immersed in typical Scottish countryside! The cottage itself is at the top of the driveway in an elevated position making the most of the spectacular views.

Enter via a small porch and into a lovely fully equipped kitchen, ideal for preparing a light lunch to enjoy in the garden or a full evening meal, the kitchen has everything you need for a comfortable stay.

The welcoming and cosy sitting room has a lovely gas fired stove, great for relaxing in front of the TV or curl up with a good book after a busy day exploring all the area has to offer, with a selection of board games in the bookshelf it's also the ideal space for a fun filled family games night!

Spanning the width of the cottage is a beautiful conservatory overlooking the gardens & seascape beyond. Relax on the sofa's with an evening glass of wine whilst taking in the local wildlife.

The bathroom is simply the best place to soak away the day's adventures! Enjoy a jacuzzi bath after a day of hiking, cycling or exploring all that Dumfries & Galloway has to offer or a quick shower in the morning before you set off.

From the cottage gardens you can look down to see the Knockinaam Lodge, famously, a secret rendezvous for a strategy meeting between then British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and General Dwight Eisenhower during World War 2.

Isolated enough to offer a real sense of privacy but at the same time not completely cut-off from humanity, the cottage offers the illusion of complete rural living but with the Knockinaam Lodge next door and larger towns just a 10-15 minute drive you have the best of both worlds!

The absolutely fantastic location of the cottage offers stunning views of the Irish Sea from a pebble beach to which we have an exclusive private path, and on a clear day you can even spot the contours of Northern Ireland from the cottage!

Other things to note
The main garden area adjacent to the cottage has a large lawn with plenty of room for children to play, however please note, there is a large pond further down at the bottom of the garden along with high banks down to woodland and beach areas, we would therefore advise that small children are supervised.
