6 Bedroom Cottage in Croyde
One of the most photographed properties in Croyde, located in the centre of the village and offering spacious accommodation with large garden, terrace, hot tub (additional charge applies) and within walking distance of the beach. In 2024 a private staircase has been built from the dining area leading up to the Master bedroom. A luxury en-suite has also been created with a freestanding bath, walk in shower which can act as a 'Jack and Jill' en-suite for the master bedroom and bedroom 4 if desired.
Cooking/Dining
A modern and light galley style kitchen provides everything you need to cater for your family or friends during your stay. Facilities include large range style cooker with electric double ovens and gas hob, dishwasher, American style fridge/freezer with water/ice dispenser and a Nespresso Vertuo coffee machine - perfect for morning coffees on the south facing terrace! The kitchen continues into a dining area with extendable table, seating up to 10 people and French doors leading to the terrace. There is a useful Utility room with washing machine and a downstairs wc.
Stairs lead from the Dining area to the master bedroom, Bedroom 1 which will have a large en-suite with both bath and shower. (Currently being installed as described above).
Living
The main living room is open to the kitchen and dining area and provides plenty of comfortable seating separated into two areas - one side has a large flatscreen Smart tv plus playstation 3 and the other has a lovely woodburner, perfect for warming up after a brisk winter beach walk! A basket of logs is provided to get you started.
There is also a further separate reading/living room with a sofa bed that can be used for guests 9 and 10.
Sleeping
There are 4 bedrooms to the first floor with the master bedroom (Bedroom 1 - king size) being accessed via the private stairs leading from the dining area into this room which has a luxury 'Jack and Jill' en-suite shower & bathroom which can be shared with Bedroom 4 if desired, (the staircase & en-suite are currently being installed as mentioned in the description). Bedroom 2 is a king size bedroom with en suite shower room, Bedroom 3 is arranged as a twin bedroom and Bedroom 4 is a twin room (with 2 additional trundle beds suitable for children on request - charges apply). These rooms are accessed from the main staircase.
Bathing
To the first floor there is a luxury en-suite shower & bathroom to Bedroom 1, an en-suite to Bedroom 2, family bathroom with handheld shower attachment and downstairs wc.
Outside
Sweets Cottage potentially has one of the best gardens in Croyde! Set mainly to the rear of the property and being south facing, this lovely, large garden provides plenty of space for children to explore! Directly off the kitchen/dining area is a paved terrace with table and chairs for 'al-fresco' dining, coal BBQ (coal not provided) and parking area for 3 - 4 vehicles. Steps up from the terrace lead to thea hot tub (additional charge applies) and sloping lawned garden. At the top of the garden is a summer house terrace with seating, a stunning place to sit and watch the evening sunset with a glass of wine! Views across Croyde and the surrounding hillside are enjoyed from the rear garden. To the front of the property, there is a small front garden with the stream running through, a gated foot bridge gives access to St Mary's Road and the short walk to the village and beach. Children should be supervised at all times in the front garden.

BOOKING INFORMATION
Please note that you are booking via an external channel and not directly through Ocean Cottages, therefore any information not provided directly from Ocean Cottages cannot be fully relied upon and pricing may differ. Please check payment and cancellation terms prior to confirming your booking.
There is a refundable security deposit of £500 payable with the final balance (not applicable to Airbnb bookings) - please note this will not be shown in the total cost of the booking on the summary screen. The security deposit is refunded within 14 days of departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).
Full payment is due if arrival is within 10 weeks. For bookings made 10+ weeks in advance a deposit of 50% plus the £60 non-refundable booking fee is due. The final balance and security deposit (if applicable) is payable 8 weeks prior to arrival.
For Bookings confirmed with VRBO, Ocean Cottages will take your payment prior to confirming your booking, this could be up to 72 hours after receiving your confirmation from VRBO. If we are unable to accept your booking, we will contact you as soon as possible. Airbnb take payment on our behalf and pay us after your stay, they will confirm the dates and amounts due when you make your booking.
It is not possible to add any extras when booking via VRBO/Airbnb and therefore the costs of any extras will not be included within the price shown, extras must be requested and paid for directly with Ocean Cottages.

Please note, to ensure optimum cleanliness & hygiene of the hot tub, it will be completely emptied and re-filled with water and chemicals on your arrival day. Therefore, the hot tub may not be up to temperature until the morning after your arrival.
