Just 5 miles away is the historic town of Llanidloes, also built on the banks of the River Severn. It boasts a variety of architecture including timber-framed black and white houses, with the impressive old market hall being its finest example. There is a good choice of amenities in the town, including antique shops, pubs, restaurants, organic cafes and scenic riverside walks. There is also a riding school just five miles away. The renowned beauty spots of Llyn Clywedog, with its 236ft dam, and Hafren Forest, offering sailing and fabulous scenery, are both close by. If you would like to travel further afield then Caersws station is just 2.5 miles away and has excellent rail links to Birmingham and London. The beautiful West Wales coast, Elan Valley, Gregynog Hall and Cader Idris are just some of the many other attractions a little further afield.
