Welcome to our sympathetically and beautifully restored historic Grade 2 Welsh longhouse dating back to 1700 - 1750. Rhiwson Uchaf is located on a 180 acre sheep farm which is ideal for rambling and exploring the country side along with also being a mere 20 minute drive from the stunning Ceredigion coastline. Staying here will offer you the best of both worlds... not only the peaceful tranquility of the countryside you are also close enough to enjoy a fun day out at the beach!
The house and surrounding area has a lot to offer and the perfect place to make lovely memories.
Rhiwson was lovingly restored by myself and my father who was a talented cabinet maker. Sadly he's no longer with us but his stunning oak workmanship lives on in the house for all to enjoy.
The property oozes character with century old oak beams and floorboards on display throughout and my Dad's oak furniture fits in beautiful with the charm of the building. The house has been featured many a time on S4C (the Welsh TV channel) and also once on the BBC Wales Fishlock programme.
Eventhough the property is surprisingly large my guest always comment on how very cosy and welcoming the rooms are. Hopefully you will find the same.
We have personally thought through all of the amenities and hope to provide you with all the comforts of home. If there is anything at all extra you need for your stay please don't hesitate to get in touch as I live nearby and will probably be able to source it for you.
There is a large enclosed dog friendly garden with a hot tub for your own private use overlooking countryside views - great for star gazing at night too! There is an outdoor sofa, table and chairs for up to 6 guests.
As a self-catering house, you'll find everything you need for a perfect stay.
It's a perfect place to relax and chill.
Within the house there is a ground floor bedroom with a four poster bed and en-suite bathroom. There are only a couple of steps to manage so ideal for guest which find climbing stairs difficult.
This house has 3 large bedrooms and can comfortably sleep 6 plus infant in a cot. I do supply a cot and high chair for infants if needed.
In the first bedroom, you will find a Kingsize bed, dressing table, built in wardrobe with radiator.
In the second en-suite bedroom, there is a double four poster bed, chest of drawers and wardrobe .
The third bedroom contains 2 full size single beds, wardrobe and dressing table.
There are 2 bathrooms.
The first family bathroom is located on the first floor and has a toilet, bath with shower and sink.
The second en-suite bathroom is located on the ground floor and has a toilet, sink and a walk-in shower.
Linen and towels are all included to make your stay more enjoyable.Please bring your own beach towels.
The Kitchen and separate utility are fully equipped with cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, 1 large fridge freezer and 1 small fridge freezer, kettle toaster, cafetiere and all the usual kitchen utensils etc.
Dining room houses a large oak table which will seat up to eight in total. Beautiful oil fired Rayburn nestled in the Inglenook fireplace for your cooking needs.

House Rules:
- Check-in time is 4pm and check-out is 10am.
- Smoking is not strictly not allowed.
- No outdoor fireworks allowed.
- There are on-site parking facilities available at the property.
- 2 well behaved dogs are welcomed at the property (there is an extra £20 fee per dog) They but must be kept on leads if walking through surrounding fields with sheep. There is also an enclosed garden at the front of the property for your dog to roam freely. Please do remember to pick up all your dog's mess before departure.
