You can also enjoy strolls along the village streets or take a boat ride along the meandering waterways of the Norfolk Broads, Horning village has three welcoming pubs located on the waterside with gardens, an ideal choice for a spot of lunch or an evening meal. There is also a village shop, popular fish restaurant, café and ice cream parlour close by to enjoy. Boat hire is also available nearby, which makes for an excellent way to explore the beauty of the Broads. Alternatively, you can hire a bike and discover the pretty villages that surround the local area. A 10-minute drive will take you into Wroxham, the capital of the Norfolk Broads, with its riverside cafés, restaurants, shops, mini model village and train station. From here you can jump on the Bure Valley Steam Railway, with the train stopping at mid-station within the pretty waterside village of Coltishall, where you can jump off, or continue onto to the popular market town of Aylsham.
Seasonal fishing is also available on your doorstep and a licence will be required. Bewilderwood, with its tree walks, zip wires and more is just a short drive away. For a great family day out, Roar Dinosaur Park at Lenwade, Banham Zoo, Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens, and the seaside resort of Great Yarmouth are all within an hour’s drive.
