The stately home of Castle Howard is just a 5-minute drive away, a magnificent Baroque mansion, known to many as ‘Brideshead Revisited’ and the setting for ’Bridgerton’, with woodland and lakeside walks, an interesting programme of events, including a Christmas experience like no other starting from mid-November until the New Year, restaurant and an excellent farm shop.
Numerous walking trails lead from the doorstep and more can be found in the North Yorkshire Moors and by venturing east to the little-known gem of the Yorkshire Wolds.
