The quiet former fishing village of Skinningrove is situated on the Cleveland Way and is a collection of delightful cottages by a sandy beach. The village is home to a store and a public house. Skinningrove has a history of Ironstone mining and there is a museum in the area that tells the story of this industry and its influence on the village. The town of Saltburn is only six miles away and has kept much of its Victorian charm and character, including its pier, the colourful Italian Gardens and the oldest water balanced cliff tramway in Britain. Skinningrove is well placed to visit the many attractions in this region including the Abbey and harbour at Whitby and the dramatic North York Moors National Park, making it a great base for a holiday.
