2 Bedroom House in Harlesden
If you're looking for a leafy residential pocket of North-West London and a comfy home with a dash of character, allow us to suggest this smart little two-bed house near Kensal Green. A converted old coach house with bright modern interiors and a simple, homely aesthetic, it affords the perfect suburban retreat, whilst nearby Willesden Junction and Kensal Rise stations mean an easy trip into the city, plus speedy access to Oxford Circus and Notting Hill.
Entering an old coach house, you'd be forgiven for expecting some fairly vintage interiors. Not here though, where you're welcomed in by a sleek open-plan living space, featuring a neutral palette and light wood surface. The kitchen is a compact feat of clean lines and modernist design, and along with the pared-back furniture and a cosy little sofa nook, skilfully maximises the space to create a subtle, almost Scandi aesthetic. Step outside and you'll find a tranquil suntrap of a garden, complete with decking area and effort-free Astroturf. There's a little table and chairs tucked in the corner – ideal for a spot of brunch in the sunshine, and even a hammock stored in the kitchen, perfect for a soothing slumber on summer evenings. Upstairs are two cosy bedrooms with ample storage space and fresh interiors. And whoever lands the second bedroom, they'll enjoy a playfully psychedelic feature wall. Whilst we'd say this room is best suited to two children, we reckon its vibrant feature wall and small double bed would work perfectly for one adult too.
We love…
The moments of understated designer flair that come with this home. If it's not the fluid green chairs around the dining table, it's the cosy reading nook bathed in soft tones, or the architectural staircase that neatly hedges the kitchen. Otherwise it has to be the garden hammock. Stored in a kitchen cupboard, you can attach it to hooks in the garden and hey presto — best seat in the house.
Home truths:
This home is for sale, so may have the odd viewing. You'll need to vacate the property if this happens but we'll give you 24 hours notice. The second bedroom features a small double, suited to 1 adult. Downstairs is a double sofa bed for 2. Motion lights outside might make this better suited to non-light (excuse pun) sleepers. A dog visits so if you have allergies, it's probably not for you.
