For golfers, Beckside Golf Course offers a challenging 9-hole course which is just 3 miles away. You are just 5½ miles from the popular tourist magnet of Bowness-on Windermere, offering a wide range of restaurants and gastro pubs. Here you can take the Windermere steamers to Lakeside at the southern point of the lake and Ambleside in the north. You’ll also find a number of popular tourist attractions including The Beatrix Potter Attraction, which is great fun for kids, or Brockhole where bigger kids can enjoy a treetop safari on the high ropes. In Kendal there are major high street brands and supermarkets, it is itself a lovely market town and excellent for a day of sightseeing and shopping. If you love the outdoors you’ll find lovely walks from your doorstep although a short drive opens up the best the Lake District National Park has to offer with an abundance of picturesque mountain landscapes along with some of the most stunning scenery, arguably, anywhere in the country.
